I have been fortunate to have visited the Louvre several times and still have not seen it all. My pet peeve are tourists with their cell phones barging through museums as if they are on a marathon. I have been jostled, told to move and pushed out of the way of entitled tourists taking photos.
Couldn't agree more! I wish all museum-goers could see every museum as a sacred space, a temple to the arts, and act accordingly. If they don't respect the art, then why are they there? And the very least they could do is have some basic respect, etiquette and decorum for their fellow humans. Ogres and ogresses everywhere! Sigh.
It's so true! On our recent visit to the Vatican museum, we were both appalled by the lack of respect that people had for both the art itself and the few of us that were actually there to see it. It was just hordes of tour groups filing through with their cameras out, not even pausing to look at anything. It's very upsetting.
This was fascinating! Who would have guessed it would take that long to see everything at the Louvre! How fortunate you were to have spent so much time there!

Thank you! Yes, it was absolutely a blessing and a privilege to call the Louvre my second home for a few years.
