I'd have to say that one of my favorite places in the world in which to stroll aimlessly has to be the beautiful streets of Lisbon. So many hidden gems around every corner of this magnificent city!
So many choices, but one city I particularly enjoying taking long walks is Zagreb, Croatia. The parks are lovely and the architecture is gorgeous. It's also a great city for people-watching from a park bench or a bustling cafe.
I think there's a Newport city on the coast of Oregon, it's beautiful. My mom & I used to eat at a warf / waterfront-like restaurant that made the best clam chowder and fish & chips. It was called Oslo's. I don't know if it's still there, or if it is as good as it was in the early seventies.
I love Newport! One of those perfectly idyllic Oregon beach towns. I don't know Oslo's, but Mo's Seafood and Chowder (open since 1946!) is still going strong! Their clam chowder is truly amazing. https://www.moschowder.com/
I loved everyone's cult film choices! All my faves. My favorite place to take a relaxing walk can be a specific place that you can find almost anywhere: the cemetery. Color me dark, but I live in Barcelona and one would think . . . but no. Not me. Not yet.
Great film picks, right??? And you are so right about cemeteries - there is something both spiritual and beautiful about cemeteries. Each one is like a little city of its own with so much history and oddly so much life. Père-Lachaise in Paris was one of our favorite spots to picnic at when we lived there! And how gorgeous is the Cementiri de Montjuïc in Barcelona??? When we visit next, we should all make a trip there together!
Père-Lachaise Cemetery was my second choice! And I completely agree, cemeteries in general are some of my favorite places for a quiet walk. Even cemeteries in small towns are fascinating to visit.
Oh boy... I love a good walk. It’s one of my spiritual practices. For me there is nothing more beautiful than a mossy sun-dappled nature trail and it’s something the PNW has done well to maintain. There was a trail in Griffith Park that I used to walk to “take me home” to the PNW when I needed some grounding. Muir Woods outside of San Francisco is breathtaking. Whenever I’m traveling I use my AllTrails app to see if I can discover something similar.
Paris is #1, but Charleston, SC would be my next choice!
Never been to Charleston (except the airport) but we've certainly done a lot of flânerie with you in Paris!!!
I'm so glad the first comment is Paris! Naturally one of our favorites as well! :-)

Lisbon's a great choice. Definitely another favorite. There's just so much to see!

It's so true, Zagreb is a beautiful city to stroll in. And an afternoon walking in the Botanical Gardens is magical!
Walking the beach at various places on the Oregon coast.
Ooh . . . I love the Oregon Coast! Those Pacific Northwest beaches are so rejuvenating, especially on a rainy day.

Thank you for the link. I recognize the building very well, the original. I don't know when they built the annex.
Oh, some place I've never been! Next time we're in Oregon, we'll have to go there.
I've been to Newport many times. Love it!
It really is spectacularly beautiful, the Oregon coast.

Ryan! IT WAS MO'S! I don't know where I got that other name. Mo's, yes!!! I cannot believe you ate there and I know you. This is getting weird.
I thought it might be Mo's! That's awesome! What a small world.

That's a beautiful spiritual practice! And AllTrails sounds likes a cool app.
