Ok, I'll keep this party going with one of my all-time favorite French dishes that I love to cook whenever I can get my hands on its particular ingredients: A poulet de Bresse (chicken from Bresse) with morel mushrooms and a Vin Jaune cream sauce. An absolutely divine dish!
My favorite French dish would have to be Gratin Dauphinois, especially Ryan Wildstar's delicious version (he uses Escoffier's recipe, which includes cheese). It's probably the French dish I crave most often, and Ryan has made a version using local ingredients in virtually every place we've ever lived. I love it!
I watched the Mapp and Lucia series many years ago (was it on PBS?) and it was hilarious. Time for a re-watch. Also came across one of the books in a used bookstore and it was equally entertaining.
A favorite French food is a French crepe--preferably eaten in Paris!

Here's a decent recipe (just substitute the crème fraîche with heavy cream) - https://www.saveur.com/story/recipes/creamy-braised-chicken-with-jura-wine-and-morels/

Whenever I am in France, I need to eat escargots and French onion soup. Sorry, so pedestrian.
