Well, I might as well break the ice with my choice! One of my favorite plays is one that I co-directed, co-produced and co-starred in with my dearest friend Jeni back in the early 1990s - Landscape by Harold Pinter. A masterpiece!
Wish I'd known you then! That production sounded incredible. Your staging choices sounded so interesting and so perfect for Pinter. You always said Pinter was an actor's playwright and a director's playwright.
One of my absolute favorite plays is Seven Guitars by August Wilson, which I saw on stage in a *spectacular* production at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland many years ago. Since then, I've now had the opportunity to see (on stage or on film) all but two of the ten plays from The Pittsburgh Cycle (aka The Century Cycle). They're all masterpieces, but Seven Guitars remains my favorite. (I feel it's the heart of the whole cycle.)
Such an amazing play (they all are)! But I do agree that Seven Guitars is a work of genius. I'm so jealous you got to see it at Ashland, no less! August Wilson was one of the greatest playwrights that ever lived.
The first thing that popped into my mind was August Wilson's Seven Guitars! Some of the best plays I have ever experienced have been at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, OR. On that note, their productions of Midsummer Nights Dream & Othello stand out in my mind.

Great minds think alike! And I couldn't agree more. So many of my favorite theatrical experiences happened at Ashland!
I loved” who doesn’t love a boat full of cheese”! and fried zucchini ! You never cease to entertain!
Thank you, Cheryl! We try!
I liked “Fences” by August Wilson. But I don’t know if it was my favorite.
Fences is a brilliant play! I think the film version with Denzel Washington and Viola Davis is equally brilliant. Magnificent performances.
