I'll get the conversation started this week. My answer would probably be different if asked again next week, but this week I will say falafel in Paris is undoubtedly one of my favorite street food delicacies. I'll even be more specific and name L'As du Fallafel - recommended by Lenny Kravitz! (it says so on the sign) - in the Marais. During our Bohemian days, we ate there almost every Sunday when we could afford it!

There is a little place on the Ile St.-Louis in Paris where you walk up to a window and order a crepe. The dessert crepes were my favorite.

Yes! Crêpes in Paris! And I wholeheartedly agree that the crêpes on the Île Saint-Louis are the best in the world.

I'd have to say my favorite street food in the world is still the taco trucks of Los Angeles. Nothing beats a trio of carnitas tacos with fresh diced onion and cilantro and some spicy salsa at 3am in East LA. Good times!

Delicious choice. Now my mouth is watering . . . those taco trucks were the best. And I miss cilantro! I swear we need to start an import/export business shipping cilantro to the Balkans.

Seize the charcuterie board!! That’s gonna be my go to phrase any time I eat out from now on. Loved this episode so much! I’ve been spending a lot of time in southeast Colorado for work lately, so I’ll say green chili with fresh flour tortillas. If you’re ever down in La Junta (next year’s Tarantula Festival maybe), Mexico City has the best green chili EVER!

Thank you!!! Last night it was "seize the cheese board!" We would LOVE to get to Mexico city. We're thinking about spending 6 months there, so we'll definitely do the Tarantula Festival - that sounds so cool. Thanks for the great recommendations!

Glad you loved this episode! (Especially since we were in a new apartment, didn't have our usual recording setup, and were recording on the fly.) And that green chili with fresh flour tortillas (my mouth is watering again) definitely sounds like (or rather, tastes like?) another great reason to visit Mexico City!

I love all your recommendations on blues. I just finished my 30 day blues course on the piano so it was perfect timing. Jealous of all the good food in Rome also:)

Love that you're playing the blues on the piano! The Albert Murray book talks about quite a few great blues/jazz pianists, from Jelly Roll Morton to Earl Hines to Thelonious Monk.
