I have to claim my hero, Jean Cocteau. He inspired me to explore all of the arts and to live my life openly and proudly and never let the flame die.

Indeed! That life-changing Jean Cocteau exhibition in Paris (at the Centre Pompidou, 20 years ago or so?) is still one of my favorite museum experiences, ever. I still carry around the ticket stub (as a bookmark) everywhere we go.

Millions of potential choices (obviously) . . . but today I will choose artist/writer/performer/DJ/goddess Juliana Huxtable, whose work in multiple media I absolutely adore!

Ok maybe I am taking a bit of liberty but I think artist not only create but they inspire and appreciate. So I am saying my favorites (sorry I have to have two) are Ryan and Ryan. You both are opening the world of so many artists to so many people.

Awww, thank you so much. We're both very honored to be considered in that regard. Your appreciation honestly means the world to us both.

Thank you for your kind words! We're both so grateful that you recognize, understand and embrace what we are doing and why we are doing it. Inspiration, appreciation, and opening up the world(s) of art and artists to others . . . You basically encapsulated our mission statement in a nutshell! ♡

I hardly know where to start, but I love Monika Treut, for one. I found Virgin Machine while rummaging through in the University of Lancashire library’s video collection one afternoon, and I must have watched it a dozen times. Blew my young and sheltered mind to bits!

Monika Treut, wow! I, too, remember seeing Virgin Machine just after I graduated high school and being blown away as well. She has always pushed the envelope. I still want to see her last film from 2021, Genderation. Great choice! Thank you!

Ooh Monika Treut! Great choice! I haven't seen Virgin Machine (adding that to the list), but I saw Gendernauts in college and that was definitely both enlightening and transformative. Thanks for reminding us about her!
