My series favorites tended to be on PBS this year. I just finished season 10 (& final) of Doc Martin. Another favorite on PBS was Seaside Hotel--a Danish drama comedy.
One of my favorite science fiction series was on Apple+--Silo.
Oh, Doc Martin is one of our absolute favorite shows! And Silo was so good too! We haven't watched the Seaside Hotel, so we'll have to check it out. Great recommendations, thank you!
One of my favorite TV shows of the year that I feel didn't get enough attention was the riveting drama series Maryland on ITVX in Britain and coming to the United States next year on PBS. The performances from Suranne Jones and Eve Best are absolutely riveting, with a spectacular cameo from the legendary Stockard Channing. Brilliant show!
So many great shows this year! One of my favorites would have to be Little Bird, which aired on Crave in Canada (back in May) and then this fall on PBS. Top-notch writing and direction, with dynamic, aesthetically-arresting performances from the entire cast, especially Darla Contois as Bezhig Little Bird (who delivered what might be my favorite acting/performance of the entire year). I hope everyone watches this powerful series. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_Bird_(TV_series)
Loved your podcast. I could listen to you imitate Julia Child all day long!.Hilarious.
Im not much of a TV watcher but I got a new iPad and with it, I got three months free of Apple TV. I fell in love with Ted Lasso. It is cheesy but really heartfelt and all about inclusion. It has swept the Emmys for 3 years.
I reckon it got plenty of attention, but I loved Beef. I wasn’t the least bit interested (too cynical, I thought), but Danielle convinced me to watch it and wow. It’s tense, acerbic, laugh out loud funny, and surprisingly moving. Loved it.
Gitane--What a beautiful voice!

She's really amazing on this album - a triumph!

Yes, Maryland was fantastic! Suranne Jones can do no wrong. And her sibling dynamic with Eve Best was simply spectacular to watch.

Thank you! Julia brings both an enormous amount of joy!
I know a lot of people love Ted Lasso. We've never seen it, so we'll have to check it out. Thanks for the recommendation!
