Thanks, Christina! We're doing well, hope you are too! I've never actually read "The Little House," so thank you for that recommendation. We'll check it out! It's funny how children's books stick with us forever.
Virginia Lee Burton! Great choice. I remember "The Little House" fondly. I also loved "Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel" and "Katy and the Big Snow," as well as her beautiful illustrations for "Song of Robin Hood." So many childhood favorites!
One of my favorite illustrated children's books is "The Phantom Tollbooth" by Norton Juster, with illustrations by Jules Feiffer - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Phantom_Tollbooth. My uncle gave it to me as a small child and it left a huge impression on me.
One of my beloved childhood favorites was "Where the Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak. I swear I could stare at those illustrations for hours. "Let the Wild Rumpus start!"
My favorite children’s book as a child was “Go Dog Go” by P.D. Eastman. Had to dig through the old memory bank to think back that far! My mother used to read it to me all the time. I was also partial to the illustrated editions of the Little House on the Prairie books because my mom was and still is in love with the series.
"Go Dog Go" is a fantastic children's book - great recommendation! Thank you for that. And, like your mom, I loved Little House on the Prairie. I, like many of my generation, watched the TV show in the 70s without fail!
I remember illustrations of Aesop's fables. Also, who could forget Little Golden Books--The Little Engine That Could, My Little Puppy & many more. I also had a little book that had a fold out doll's head & feet and each page would layover the body a different outfit. And yes, I still have that book in a box of childhood mementos somewhere.

Such a beautiful book! We still have your original copy tucked away safely somewhere in our storage unit.

How did I not know it was white wine day yesterday? I had no idea it had its own day! Cheers to that!
I loved your description of your reading recommendations!
We just discovered it too! Thank you, glad you liked the reading recommendations!
And Ken Copeland!
Glad you liked Glenn Copeland too!

Oh, I loved Aesop's fables when I was a kid. My grandma had a great illustrated version that I remember very fondly!
More childhood favorites! I don't know how many different versions of Aesop's Fables I had as a kid. And I loved the Little Golden Books too!
