#1: Our Weekly Publication Schedule is Changing!
Our podcast is moving to Wednesdays! And we’re combining our Aesthetic Arrest Podcasts with our Mid-Week Libations in a brand-new weekly format we are simply calling: Aesthetic Arrest!
It’s the best of both worlds! “You got your chocolate in my peanut butter!” Two great tastes that taste great together!
Here’s what you can now expect every Wednesday:
Aesthetic Arrest is our weekly dip into the Epicurean pleasures we’ve been enjoying lately. Now with TWO ways to enjoy our curated splash of inspiration and culture in just one email! Cheers to that!
Those who prefer the weekly podcast can listen to our Aesthetic Arrest Podcast, featuring R&R discussing our reading, listening, looking, viewing and tasting recommendations of the week! You now have the option of a podcast to brighten up your mid-week or something cultural to save for your weekend.
Those who prefer the Mid-Week Libation can take a deep-dive into our Aesthetic Arrest: Mid-Week Libation! Everything discussed on the podcast each Wednesday will be spotlighted using our “Libation” format: a curated splash of interesting cultural gems to explore — videos, music, art, articles, recipes and more (including R&R playlists and weekly words of wisdom). Something different every week!
So be on the lookout each Wednesday for our revamped Aesthetic Arrest!
Our long-form content, traditionally posted on Mondays (often for paid subscribers only), is also getting a makeover!
Instead of posting a full-length article every Monday, we’re going to take some time out, go back to our writing room, and only release a new article when we have something unique, interesting and important we want to share. These posts will be less frequent (and not necessarily on Mondays), but will feature more personal content and more original creative writing, including travel stories, memoirs, vignettes, poetry, editorials, cultural and culinary reveries, as well as new installments to our ongoing series like “How to Vagabond Like an Epicurean,” “Snapshots,” “Conversations on Culture,” and “R&R’s Aesthetic Toolkits.” Stay tuned!
And needless to say, all of these changes to our Substack publishing schedule couldn’t come at a better time. Because we have an even bigger second announcement that we are very excited to share:
#2: Ryan Wildstar is Publishing a New Book in 2025!
It’s a bit early to talk about all the details, but right now his publisher is aiming for a late 2025 release for A Jovian Dream: Collected Poems by Ryan Wildstar, his long-awaited collection of original poetry! This book will contain a collection of poems from 1980 to the present (45 years of writing!).
For more info about A Jovian Dream: Collected Poems by Ryan Wildstar, keep checking our Substack for updates! Meanwhile, paid subscribers will have an exclusive chance to read some of those poems before the book is officially released!
Excited for these changes!
I'm also thrilled about the book, Ryan. I remember all those conversations we've had over the years about trying to get your book published. You definitely deserve this honor, my friend!
I also think these changes are in a positive direction so you’re not working so hard to put out so much material every week. And freeing yourselves up to do other things.
I’m so thrilled you’re publishing another book!
